Arcane Component Works tips its hat to old tradition with this beautiful stripping guide. These wide fluted stones are wire-bezelled in ACW’s resurrection of an old-school look. Give these guides a try on your next custom flyrod.
Please note: we are in the slow but sure process of making prototypes of all the guides using the freshly cut agates that we’ve produced over the past year. In this instance, some sample photos were taken of guides made with old-stock stones, so the style is accurate, but for stone options you’ll need to consider the photos of loose rings. If you’re really frustrated that we don’t have a finished, sample guide photographed in a particular stone, you can order one and request that we take photos of your guide for the website. Time permitting, we will do our best to accommodate this request and over the next year we’ll get more and more sample pics posted to these pages.

Jewelry Grade Options: We can bezel these fluted stones in Gold or Sterling Silver, either plain wire or twisted, Rope wire. While these can be left with bright frames, we suggest blued frames to create a high contrast with the precious metal bezels. These guides are durable and gorgeous – the perfect way to help your next showpiece dazzle the eye. For Gold, please inquire by email at email@example.com.
Set in our Cradle frame, these stones are wide, relative to their narrow cousins, Wire Bezel Stripping Guides-Narrow Stone.
Note: We are now working up prototype Cradle Frames in our new, second generation, Hydro-Welded™ Frames. For the moment, you can choose either a first generation frame at no added charge, or you can up-grade to a Hydro-Welded™ Frame; when the current batch of first gen frames is gone, we’ll drop that option. The Cradle variant of the new frames is more expensive than the regular (High/Standard/Medium) variants of the new frame because the feet on Cradle Frames, like Low Frames, must be annealed and pressure formed prior to grinding and tapering – more steps. We’ll post photos after some bold client has us make one or two.
