FINAL INVENTORY! Very limited inventory of brass hex stock remains…
No discount because we make these in-house in small batches, but we’ll stop making them once the lathe is packed up. Get a set now if you want a set.
Slip your glued rings onto this hexagonal brass mandrel, or glue them right on here (be certain to pre-coat the mandrel with a bit of Vaseline for easy removal, afterward) with help from our traditional cork clamp. Then, chuck it up for easy, no-slip turning of your custom grip.
Russ, …. I have to tell you, I love the Golden Witch mandrels! These things are awesome, I will probably trash all my other mandrels now..thanks for a quality product!

A customer recently asked, “how does the cork mandrel prevent the grip from slipping while turning?”
Great question. It’s the “square peg in a round hole” effect that makes it work. The corner-to-corner spec of the hexed mandrel measures about 0.285″ (the flat-to-flat is about 0.250″), while the bore of typical cork rings measures 0.250″. The fit is snug and the grip cylinders won’t spin on the mandrel. In fact, finished grips can be a little tough to remove, but if you clamp one end in a vise, get two fingers ‘behind’ the grip on either side of the mandrel and then pull the grip toward yourself, they’ll come off. If you merely grasp the cork grip around its circumference and pull, you risk tearing the cork at a ring-to-ring glue joint….very rare, but it can happen.
Set of two cork mandrels, approximately 10 3/4” x 1/4” hex and 8 1/2” x 1/4” hex.
