PRODUCTION ON PAUSE

Hi Folks, we are no longer producing this line – for the time being. Once the shop is moved and set up again, I expect to resume production on these and many other of our Golden Witch and Arcane Component Works parts. After an item is listed as ‘Production On Pause,’ please don’t request that we make an exception for you; the tools to make each paused item are already boxed up and ready to move in a shipping container. Thanks for your understanding and patience as we shift from a full-time operation to a semi-retired part-time operation. I expect our sabbatical will last the entirety of 2023, with operations firing up again in early 2024. – Russ

Franken-Stone™ Guide Series

18mm OD Narrow Red Agatine With Brass Bezel Set In A Vintage Super Duty Frame

Russ,  Wow! They look wonderful.  I look forward to getting them.  This is giving me fresh inspiration to build. … Thank you,  Brett C.  (USA)

These guides feature narrow vintage rings, and the extremely heavy-wire vintage frames we found ‘in the rough.’  All the frame forming steps and the other guide finishing steps were performed in-house.  We have a few dozen of these frames, but the supply will not last.   Add one of these guides to your rodmaking stash while you can.  When you’re ready, make a rod to tackle large salmon or stripers!

As of 1/4/21 we have eight of these in stock and can make a few dozen more, unless the frames are used up making other Super Duty guides.  Grab one while we’ve got them.  The Bright/Natural format can ship promptly; if you opt for the Blued finish, the guide will go onto our custom work list and should be ready to ship in a few weeks.

Each one of these is going to vary slightly, but figure the guide ring is about 18mm OD x 11mm ID x 4mm Wide.  It stands about 1.070″ tall and is about 2.265″ long, foot tip to foot tip.

Salmon?  Yes.  Carp?  Yes.  Sharks, redfish, stripers, halibut….maybe.

Use #30 Tire Silk to lash this down traditionally.

It’s tough, if not impossible, to see it as a distinctly different color, but that bezel is highly polished brass and quite ‘yellow’ compared to the highly polished nickel silver frame.  The vintage rings to either side haven’t been polished and the brass really shows, along with roughly 70 years of accumulated patina.
