Chris Carlin has been making bamboo rods professionally for over a decade based out of his small shop located in Anchorage, Alaska. He makes both rods and blanks utilizing custom designed or classic tapers in hexagonal and quadrate configurations.
All Carlin bamboo blanks are individually crafted from of a single culm of top grade tonkin cane and are built from start to finish in his shop.
Hexagonal and quadrate blanks are available in a variety of actions and configurations based on proven custom or classic tapers, with optional hollow-built construction. All blanks come with a pair of matching mirror tips that have tip tops mounted and top quality nickel silver ferrules installed and fit (bluing availble upon request). A protective coat of quality spar varnish is standard so blanks are ready-to-wrap with no additional finish required. A guide spacing chart and compact ferrule maintenance kit are also included.
