Product Description

Inventory Reduction Sale:  This is the A Grade Ten Pack Bamboo page, but we’re offering a special that includes some A- Bamboo…it’s the new “10 Plus 2” deal.  If you request “10 Plus 2” in the comments section of your order for a ten pack of A Bamboo, then we’ll add two culms of A- bamboo to your order at no extra charge.  We simply have too much A- bamboo on our shelves because folks tend to order the higher grades.  Request the deal and you’ll score two lower grade culms that you can use for flamed rods, practice culms, taper experimentation, ski poles, or anything else you might imagine.

Ten packs of A Grade Peak Bamboo normally retail for $749.55 + S/H/I.

Inventory Reduction Sale: if we’re cutting & shipping inside the United States, then the sale price is now $699.95 + S/H/I.  This is the sale price noted in the webstore.  We’re offering this modest discount to help balance our inventory by sweetening the price of our most popular grade, A Grade.  We sell more A Grade than any other grade, but we also have lots of it.  Our second load of bamboo leans strongly toward the A Grade.  As above, you may request “10 Plus 2” and we’ll add two culms of A- bamboo to your boxes.  Expect to pay a bit more for shipping than you’d spend for just a 10 pack.  If you do not request “10 Plus 2” then we assume that you don’t want to pay the added shipping and we will not add the extra culms to your boxes.  Once packed, we cannot add the two culms to the order because 12 packs ship in different boxes than the ten packs.

RE Drying Splits:

Culms WITHOUT A Drying Split may travel better, but may also develop entirely random check splits due to temperature and humidity variations; Culms WITH A Drying Split will have, obviously, the drying split and they will also have a hinge split opposite the drying split…these culms are more compressible and may develop additional “handling” splits especially at the ends of culms, but they are less likely to develop random splits. It really is six of one, half a dozen of the other. Pick your poison.  Or travel to pick them up yourself, which is the best way to secure 12′ sticks and to protect your investment.  We offer Open Warehouse Saturdays approximately once per month.

RE Length, we have two options:

  • 12′ cut into halves (Approx. 71” after sawing; clearly marked and bundled)
  • 12′ cut into thirds (Approx.. 47” after sawing; clearly marked and bundled)

ROUGH U.S. Shipping Estimates:  These are just ballpark estimates and you’ll note that the shipping drops dramatically as you move from one to six culms.  A single culm is running $85-$95 to most Continental US locations, but it’s the box length and ‘dimensional weight’ that drive up the initial shipping cost.  Two culms would be in the range of $95 -$115.00.  By six culms you’re looking at $135-$160.  At ten culms figure $21.00-$30/culm depending on location; at 24 culms you’re looking at $20.00 – $27.00/culm  to most locations in the Continental US.  Individual culm weight does come into play, and the average A+ stick weighs more than the average A- stick, so ten of one grade vs. ten of another grade would have modestly different shipping costs to the same location.  If we run a sale that offers you the chance to request an extra culm or two, expect that the free culm(s) will still add to your shipping expense.
