New Fly Fishing DVD:
"The Graphite Fly Rod, How to Build a Modern Classic"

New Fly Fishing DVD:
Tightlines Productions has just released a new DVD set on building graphite rods that is one of the more interesting instructional videos of the year. In it, Russ Gooding, a recognized master of classic bamboo rod building, takes his cane rod aesthetic and applies it to the modern graphite blank. If you are looking for a way to spend a few very enjoyable hours over the holidays, or just want a little rod-building inspiration, "The Graphite Fly Rod" is a great choice.

We Buy!
Do you have old rodmaking tools, components, or paper goods? If so, we buy and trade. We're always in the market for agate guides, old snakes, ferrules, vintage rod whipping silks, rod catalogs, books, and so forth. We'll pay cash for particularly useful items - agate strippers and silks fall into this category. We can make even more generous trades if you want to unload something antiquated in order to update your rod shop with the latest in classic rodmaking technology.

Send us photos, or samples, and complete inventory information. We'll be happy to make the opening offer, or you're welcometo suggest a starting point. Our final offer will be based upon fair margins for ourselves, fair prices for our clients, and relative shelf-life. In other words, antique trolling guides aren't likely to sell fast, so they aren't worth much in cash and only a bit more in trade. Low-frame Payne strippers will sell quickly, so we'll gladly pay cash.

Send us an e-mail to discuss your stash.

We're often in need of small brass torches that originally burnt gasoline or alcohol. We convert these into denatured alcohol lamps for working bamboo. Intact labels that refer to "Alcohol" are a big plus, but not necessary. If the torches have a "Gas" label, we treat them as if they were unlabelled for trading purposed (thank the insurance company for that... we can't sell them with "Gas" on the label). We're only after the very small torches, nothing over 3 1/2" in diameter or over 5" tall.
